Emma Sargsyan and her 52-year-old son live permanently in Sevazhayr, a village cut off from the world. During the summer, this village in Vayots Dzor is home to 25 families, but with the coming of the wintry weather, they go back to Shatin, taking their cattle with them.
Emma Sargsyan brings out old photos from the depths of her shelves and says: “Here's my son Vardan; time has passed, and he hasn't married yet. This is my youngest son, Vahan. And this is Van; they both live in Shatin with their families. And here's a photo of my son Yervand during his time in the army. He's been missing since the First Karabakh war.”
