Biography
I am someone in the middle of the image and sound. Co-founder and CEO of PAN Photo Agency, founder of RAMBALKOSHE.
I have been engaged in photography since 2000. My photos have been published in The New York Times, The Guardian, Esquire, Time, Vogue, and in a number of other international periodicals.
I have collaborated with Universal Music, ECM records, Levis, Microsoft, and other companies. In 2005-2007, I served in the RA Armed Forces as a photographer in the Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense.
In 2007, Gnel Nalbandyan and I created the newmag magazine, of which I was the artistic director. In 2009, Armen Azaryan and I created the PAN Photo agency, the photos of which have appeared in all the well-known and unknown newspapers and periodicals of the world over the years.
In 2013, I was one of the speakers at the TEDxYerevan conference. In 2015, together with Lilit Stepanyan, Lia Mkhitaryan, and Tigran Hamasyan, we represented Armenia at the Prague Quadrennial. In 2015-2017, I taught photography at Ayb School. In 2016, I created the RAMBALKOSHE Museum of Contemporary Art.
In addition, I have authored three books, the first with photos from the Cannes Film Festival, the second about the Armenian Genocide, and the third dedicated to the Armenian Radio. I have taught and had exhibitions in more than 20 countries.
